Figure 2 HCV-specific T-helper cell response. Freshly collected peripheral blood mononuclear cells from the patient were cultured for 6 days in the presence and absence of 4 different recombinant HCV proteins (C22-3, C33C, C100, and NS5). Vigorous proliferation, measured as stimulation index (SI), was observed against 3 of the 4 proteins, indicating the presence of a broad HCV-specific T-helper cell response.
