2 Course Selection Process
Attend Course Selection Information sessions during your HCE-8 B block class. Select courses and discuss selections with your parent/guardian. Have parent/guardian sign the Course Selection Sheet. Counsellors will pick sheets up and review them with you during your HCE-8 B block class.

3 Grade 9 Timetables Mix of semester, linear and quarter courses.
linear: all year semester: half year quarter: quarter of the year (one term) LINEAR: English 9, Math 9, PE 9, Languages/Computers 9, Band 9 SEMESTER: Science 9, Social Studies 9 QUARTER: HCE-9, electives

4 Required Courses English 9 (linear) Math 9 (linear) PE 9 (linear)
Science 9 (semester) Social Studies 9 (semester) HCE-9 (one term)

5 Electives Students will also be able to take three of the following courses: ●Art 9 ●Drama 9 ●Fitness 9 ●Foods 9 ●Textiles 9 ●Woodworking 9

7 Do I need a 2nd language to graduate?
not a requirement for graduation it is an entrance requirement for some universities

8 Getting the Most Out of High School
Be in school every day. Be organized. Manage your time well. Take good notes. Study smart. Use test-taking strategies. Set goals. Get involved with clubs, teams and extracurricular opportunities. Know how to handle stress. Use available resources and services. Plan and prepare for your future.
