3 Soliloquy A character speaks to himself or herself, relating thoughts or feelings to the audience. Other characters are not aware of what is being said.

4 Aside a remark by a character in a play that is intended to be heard by the audience but unheard by the other characters in the play.

5 Monologue a long speech by one actor in a play.
Interior – externalizing thoughts Dramatic – one character speaking to another

6 Dramatic Irony When the audience knows something a character does not.

7 Dialogue lines spoken by a character, especially a conversation between two characters

8 Stage Directions part of the printed text in a play that indicates actions or activity for the actors to engage in. 

9 Paradox Using contradiction in a manner that oddly makes sense on a deeper level.  "Cowards die many times before their deaths" -Shakespeare's Julius Caesar

10 Pun A play on two words similar in sound but different in meaning.
A chicken crossing the road is truly poultry in motion.
