I understand the scientific process and how
to create a my own experiment

*** Research your problem
5
*** **** All science begins with a problem or a question…you go through steps of the scientific process to find the answer. Sometimes your right and sometimes your wrong. Many times you learn more when your wrong!

Observations in Science: Use 5 senses minus one… No Tasting!
*** Observations in Science: Use 5 senses minus one… No Tasting! Smell… use Wafting Touch… feel texture – how something feels(smooth, rough, sharp etc… ) Sound… the pitch(high or low) Loudness (soft or loud) Sight… Shapes, sizes, state (solid, liquid, or gas)

Hypothesis is a researched guess

Think time… All Science begins with a … What is a Hypothesis? All experiments must be … What is a control group? What is the experimental group?
16
*** Control groups are the groups in the experiment that you already know what is going to happen to them!
17
*** Experimental group … This is the group that gets the “new medicine or the new tool” and you are unsure if this group will do better or worse.
19
Constants are known as conditions or variables
*** In a Science experiments, the researchers must keep all conditions the same except the one they are testing
20
Summing up experiments… Need Control and Experimental group(s)
*** Summing up experiments… Need Control and Experimental group(s) Need to keep all conditions the same…except for the one condition your testing. Run the experiment many times so the result are RELIABLE (they can be repeated) Experiments also have written directions which make them RELIABLE
