Early Fire Detection System Using Solar Powered Wireless Sensor Network Introduced By: Fardous Abu-Alkishik Hana Abu-Qamar Hala Hatamleh Supervisor: Dr-Amjad Abu-Baker

This project aims to design a prototype for a solar powered wireless sensor, which can be used in many applications, as an example, it can be used in early fire forest detection which is the example we designed our project for. The motivation behind this project is to place solar power instead of batteries in sensor systems, the most important disadvantage of batteries is that they need to be replaced every period of time Introduction

Our Project is divided into to phases :  Solar Power System.  Wireless Sensor System. Design Approach

We face a problem in our project:  The high cost of the zig bee model prevented us from involving it in our project.  Station 2 was unable to transfer the data from station 3 to the main station. The problems we had during doing the project

 A wireless sensor network is a group of specialized transducer with a communications infrastructure for monitoring and recording Commonly monitored parameters, such as temperature, humidity and pressure at diverse location.  The resulting outcome of our work is a prototype for a " Solar Powered Wireless Sensor Network ” which is the name of our presented system,we try to apply the idea of multi hop,and we assume that there is a far forest from the base station. Wireless Sensor Network

System Block Diagram

 A sensor designed to detect and respond to the presence of a flame or fire.  Responses to a detected flame depend on the installation, but can include sounding an alarm, deactivating a fuel line (such as a propane or a natural gas line) and activating a fire suppression system. Commercial Sensors

 A solar cell, or photovoltaic cell, is an electrical device that converts the energy of light directly into electricity by the photovoltaic effect, which is a physical and chemical phenomenon  It is a form of photoelectric cell, defined as a device whose electrical characteristics, such as current, voltage, or resistance, vary when exposed to light. Solar Power

Final Project Design

Solar power has many advantages:  first of all it helps to slow/stop global warming.  It saves society billions or trillions of dollars.  I t creates jobs As a source of energy solar power is a job- creating powerhouse, Money invested in solar power creates two to three times more jobs than money invested in coal or natural gas. Conclusions
