Accreditation: What it is and why you should care!
Visit the table in the commons (next to Ms. Lamb and Mr. Frey). You can preview some of our work and sign up to participate in the review. Our Accreditation Leadership team will contact you soon! Every 5 years, schools present evidence in order to be “accredited” – a status necessary for ensuring that colleges and universities accept the credits that students have earned while at DHS. It’s our year. And we’re close! Now, we think it’s important for parents and guardians to review our work and give us feedback from your unique perspectives.

Your grades are now permanent. No late bus for tutoring.
We do have after school tutoring and with teachers by appointment. 7 period schedule. A Day/ B Day, 7th every day. May be with upper classmen in elective courses. Lunch with all grades; older students often leave campus.

Opportunities Study Buddy Tutoring Program. Currently Tues/Thurs from 2:15-3:15 in the Media Center. Our DHS website/counselor’s site has a Programs and Opportunities link updated regularly to showcase all sorts of opportunities, summer programs and extra curricular activities Dual credit courses; available through WNC. This is an opportunity to earn college credits while still in High School. (Generally your 11th and 12th grade years). Jump Start College Program w/ WNC. Taking Math 126/128 (Pre Cal/Trig) Junior year. That would mean students currently in Geometry . English 101/102, History and Elective Dual Credits. Can earn up to 60 credits. (Associates Degree). Internships/Work Place job shadowing; Generally your senior year Certification Credentials in CTE courses. Earn college credit in your CTE classes at many NSHE institutions. (Welding, Ag, Culinary, Digital Lit, photography).

Continue to Foster Independence
As students move to the high school, it is important to foster self-advocacy in regards to his/her grade and graduation. We are the best place to practice, as we are all in the kid business!

What Comes Next? Finalize registration at the Middle Schools.
Each Middle School will visit DHS in May for a guided tour. Schedules will be available August in Infinite Campus along with a letter inviting our Freshmen to an Orientation Day. You will get your schedule and be able to locate your classrooms prior to the first day.
