ACT score of 21 or higher; OR
SAT score of 980 or higher; OR
Graduate in the top-third of their class
Complete the Pre-College or Kansas Scholars Curriculum with at least a 2.0 GPA

Juniors may now attend TEC (technical education center) in their junior year.
Requirements: on track to graduate, very few tardies, good attendance, little or no behavior referrals, your OWN TRANSPORTATION!!
TEC building is at 65th and State Ave.

How Credit is Earned
Achieving a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exam in May
Pass the course. Some transfer schools may not accept grade lower than a C.
Amount of Credit Earned
Depends on the score, higher scores can earn more credit or eliminate prerequisites.
The number of credit hours assigned to the course, usually 3 or 5 credit hours.

15. PHS Schedule Change Policy: What you need to know… - pg. 7
You need to take this step of the process very seriously. The course change policy will be strictly enforced. Remember…If you COMMIT to a course and you are CAPABLE, you will be expected to COMPLETE the course. This includes year long courses.
You will not be allowed to drop any course that is listed on your course request sheet.

16. PHS Schedule Change Policy
The student needs to enroll in a required class.
The student is enrolled in a class for which he/she has already received credit.
The student has not met the prerequisite for the class.
The student has an incomplete schedule.
A teacher recommends the student advance to a higher level course or that the student moves out of the course due to failure of 1st semester.
IF YOU WANT A SCHEDULE CHANGE TO REQUEST A SPECIFIC TEACHER, IT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

17. What happens next?
Fill out your enrollment sheet. Choose classes that YOU are interested in.
Discuss your choices with your parent/guardian.
On February 12 & 13 you will meet with your counselors to enroll.
Please have your enrollment form with you. It must be completed, and signed in order to enroll.
