2 Title: Lines, Triangles, and the Pythagorean Theorem
Making a New Booklet Title: Lines, Triangles, and the Pythagorean Theorem

3 Title the First Clean Page: Outcomes Leave the front and back of this page for outcomes
I can identify relationships of angles formed by two parallel lines cut by a transversal.

4 Title the Next Clean Page: Definitions
Transversal – a line that intersects two or more lines. Alternate Interior Angles – angles that lie on the inside of the lines but on opposite sides of the transversal. When the lines are parallel, their measurements are equal. Alternate Exterior Angles – angles that lie on the outside of the lines but on opposite sides of the transversal. When the lines are parallel, their measurements are equal. Corresponding Angles – angles that are in the same position on the two lines in relation to the transversal. When the lines are parallel, their measures are equal. Vertical Angles – opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines. Vertical angles are congruent.

5 Definitions Supplementary angles – the sum of the measures of two angles equals 180°. Complementary angles – the sum of the measures of two angles equals 90°. Adjacent angles – angles that are next to each other and share a line. Perpendicular lines – when two lines intersect in a plane and form right angles. Parallel lines – lines that are in the same plane and do not intersect.

7 Labsheet 5.1 This will take the place of your notes today.
You are going to staple this into your booklet once we have completed it. We are going to do this together so that you can get familiar with measuring angles with a protractor as well as learning the different types of angles.

8 Relationships of Angles
Get with your 3:00 appointment and complete this for a grade. You can use your notes that we just did together to help you.

9 Homework Complete page 375 (1-6)!
