3 PROJECTS CAN BE HUGE Over 750 Pilots came together in Nashville at 2018 PI Convention to pack 30,000 meals for “at-risk-children” in the Nashville area. What an Exciting HUGE PROJECT Pilot International partnered with “No Child Hungry” in this service project. How proud we were to see Texas Pilots on the cover photo of the Pilot Log describing the event. While that was A HUGE Project, each of our Clubs has its own unique Projects perhaps not so HUGE - but just as important to the recipients.

4 PROJECTS are the Heart of our Clubs!
As we prepared our Budget and Plans of Work, our clubs identified Service Projects Funds and Operating Funds. Profits from fund raisers designated for Service Projects must be spent for that purpose and funds are not to be moved back to the Operating Accounts. I want to talk about a few Successful Projects in our Community.

12 Project BrainMindersTM
BrainMindersTM is Pilot International’s signature program originally designed in 2001 to teach safety to children to help prevent brain injuries. In 2017, an appointed PI BrainMindersTM Committee developed an enhanced website presence and a program with revised and new materials for presentations… available on the Pilot website under BrainMindersTM or The Pilot Store. Texas Pilots and Anchors present BrainMinders to thousands each year. Puppet shows, stories, activity and coloring books, and songs promote brain safety.

14 Caregiving and awareness is 2018-2019 Texas District focus project
Pilot Club of Baytown Community Service welcomed residents of Waterford back home following the reopening of the flooded facility from damages during Hurricane Harvey one year ago. Pilots presented residents with a plant for their rooms. Pictured: Pilots Susan Pitts, Gail Wilson & Delores Ellis presenting resident Betty Haltom, age 90, a gift.  .

15 Project Lifesaver & Project Lifeline
Many Texas clubs work with local law enforcement to promote and fund the project lifesaver, which helps protect citizens who wander. ( In 1982, Pilot Club of Baytown and Evening Pilot Club of Baytown recognized the need for emergency communications and formed the Lifeline Systems of Baytown. A personal help device to be worn on the body for living safely and confidently in the home.
