Spring can bring the highest possibility of TORNADOS – especially during the evening hours. LEARN your shelter areas. Shelter in Interior rooms and halls if no basement Office stairwells and rest rooms at good shelter areas Stay away from glass walls and windows Avoid free-span roofs (gyms, large conf. rooms, & lobbies) Do NOT get into a vehicle Storms generally move from the SW to NE in Spring and W to E in Summer Go to a shelter NEAREST to you – check in with supervisor after the all clear. Once sheltered cover your head and neck TORNADO WIND SPEEDS ACTIVE SHOOTER – LOCK DOWN Stay calm Get to a room you can lock Turn off lights & close blinds if you can & stay QUIET. Turn off cell phones to avoid noise Have 1 person in your group call Report your location, group size & all info you can give. Wait patiently for a uniformed police officer to give all clear. BUILDING EVACUATION Leave at the nearest exit Proceed to the GDI rally-muster point Check in with supervisor Follow site security directions LEARN evacuation areas in advance Stay where you are – Don’t run outside Drop to your hands and knees Cover your head and neck with your arms Stay away from doorways, windows or glass Get under low furniture for protection Keep clear of anything that can fall on you EARTHQUAKE To be PREPARED for building safety, shelter, or evacuation you need to: Learn emergency exit points & procedures at your job site Consider downloading a free weather app on your phone Know your GDI rally / gathering point Learn where your interior shelter areas are in your building REPORT aggressive behavior (physical or verbal) immediately PLAN & STAY SAFE
