UAlbany Compliance Corner Eligibility Center Reminder
December 2018 Edition Out-of-Season (8 hour segment) All countable athletically related activities outside the playing season are prohibited during institutional vacation periods. All countable athletically related activities outside the playing season are prohibited one week prior to the beginning of the final examination period. In-Season (20 hour segment) Countable athletically related activity limitations do not apply during institutional vacation periods, except they cannot take place between midnight and 5:00am. Daily and weekly hour limitations apply to countable athletically related activities during final examination period and all official preparatory periods leading up to the final exam period. ARMS Tip Before submitting your practice logs remember to review the Compliance Check to make sure that there are no errors. The Compliance Check can be viewed at the top of your Playing Season page which is found under your Team tab. If the Compliance Check is green there are no errors with your logs but if it appears yellow than there are errors. The weeks with errors will be designated with a yellow triangle to the right of them. Clicking on the triangle will let you view the issues. Eligibility Center Reminder Following the completion of the Fall semester, please remember to remind your recruits to have their high school(s) send their most current transcript to the NCAA Eligibility Center. This will allow recruits the opportunity to obtain early certification as a Qualifier and will also help to speed up the certification process come summer. Important Dates: December 4th- Last day of countable athletically related activities for out of seasons teams December 10th- Last Day of Classes December 11th- Reading Day December 12th- Finals Exams Begin December 18th- Final Exams End Holiday Cards It is permissible to send a holiday card to a PSA but remember general correspondence legislation applies. Cards can only be sent to PSA’s after September 1st of their junior year and they cannot be bigger than 8.5” x 11” when fully opened, while envelopes may not exceed 9” x 12”. The cards cannot be purchased from a store. Compliance Trivia End Zone, a football prospect, will be signing a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with UAlbany next week. One of the assistant coaches will be in End Zones hometown on the initial signing day and would like to attend his press conference. Is that Permissible?
