Main characteristics Cycling is prioritized over motorized transport.
Low car flow and speed; no overtaking of bikes. Relatively new, often no formal/legal traffic rules. Applied in different countries.

A bike street can contribute to a higher share of cyclists and fewer cars, lower speeds. Per 24h: >2000 cyclists and <1 000 cars.

Effects on safety and security
No bus routes or reduce heavy vehicle traffic. Speed limit of 30 km/h instead of 50km/h: Accidents with injury declines with 25 %. Bike streets with a relative small profile show lower car speeds.
