2 Xerox® AltaLink® Family of Multifunction Printers: What’s New?

3 Xerox® AltaLink® Software Update Overview
Introducing updated software for the AltaLink® family of multifunction printers Advances AltaLink® user experience with modern features, customization, repetitive task productivity Delivers greater security and new features to make users more productive Enhances fleet management capabilities Upgrade existing AltaLink® multifunction printers via a software update or download from Xerox.com The AltaLink® software update is available for all devices in the AltaLink® family. It delivers an improved user experience, greater security, and new features to make users more productive while including updates for Managed Print Services environments. Existing AltaLink® products can be upgraded to this new software release. The software is available through the standard upgrade process – either using the Software Update feature on the device (within the Embedded Web Server) or via download from Xerox.com.. Additional information: This software update will be included in newly manufactured devices beginning in January Products launched prior to the availability of this software update can be upgraded at no cost.

4 Intuitive User Experience
For increased productivity, customize the User Interface (UI) at the home screen and streamline repetitive tasks Show/hide apps on home screen and quickly access most commonly used features Re-order home screen apps and put most-used apps at the front Re-order and show/hide features within apps Automate and speed through tasks with 1-Touch App Simple to create and use Program a job and save as a 1-Touch shortcut on UI (copy, scan, fax, functions). Example: Scan to without typing an address. Choose your own icon and name for the 1-Touch App Clone and share across multiple devices This software update further enhances our industry-leading ability to customize the user experience. Similar to the Xerox® VersaLink® product family, AltaLink® users can customize the user interface at the device to show/hide apps, re-order them to place the most-used ones at the top of the screen, and even show/hide features or re-order them within apps (e.g., Copy) to maximize productivity for commonly used features. This update extends that capability, allowing users to create 1-Touch Apps that save and simplify complicated or lengthy workflows. Once created, this app will appear and behave similarly to native device apps and functions. 1-Touch Apps can be shown for all users or just the creator of the 1-Touch App. Key examples: Simple scan to . This allows the user to save a 1-Touch App that appears on the home screen – simply place hard copy in the DADF and touch the 1-Touch App on the home screen. This will initiate the Scan to – per programmed settings – with a single touch. Scan to multiple locations – scan to your computer, a network repository and an group right from your home screen – in a single touch without setting up multiple locations separately.

5 Intuitive User Experience
Scan To USB SMB Share Network Intuitive User Experience New “Scan To” app added to UI for multi-destination scanning Take user productivity to a new level. Now users can choose multiple destinations in a single job while scanning: Scan to: USB drive Network location SMB share (Windows network location) Utilize this feature and expand Solutions capability Improved PCL image quality for AltaLink® C8000 Series PostScript image quality has always been great and the recommended default driver. Now the PCL driver delivers comparable image quality: Increased color levels with 8 bits per pixel rendering Smoother gradients, richer colors, truer color reproduction Take AltaLink® user productivity to a higher level with the added capability of multi-destination scanning. Users can scan a single job and choose multiple destinations such as , USB, network, and SMB share (Windows network locations). This feature can also be used for scanning-based solutions, expanding their usability. This new capability, which is similar to the VersaLink® family, is available from the Scan To app on the home screen. For the Xerox® AltaLink® C8000 Series the recommended print driver has been PostScript, which has provided the best image quality. Now the PCL driver has been enhanced to provide comparable image quality with 8-bit rendering resulting in smooth gradients, rich colors and truer color penetration.

6 Intuitive User Experience
Save time and eliminate tedious configuration setup with Fleet Orchestrator Server-less, secure fleet management Configure a single device once, then let the fleet deploy and manage automatically Share automated workflows across devices Keep software upgrades and configuration settings synchronized Subscriber Publisher Subscriber Publisher Fleet Orchestrator helps system administrators deploy software upgrades, apply configuration clones and share files through secure peer-to-peer connections between any AltaLink® devices, allowing them to “talk” to each other. Through a simple setup in the Embedded Web Sever tool an AltaLink® device is configured as a publisher, and other AltaLinks as subscribers. At scheduled times, the subscriber looks up the publisher and downloads new software upgrade files, clone files and shared 1-Touch App files. A subscriber in turn can also act as a publisher and have its own set of subscribers. This new hub and spoke system enables an efficient and secure way of keeping equipment firmware and configurations up to date. Subscriber Subscriber

7 Proactive security monitoring with Configuration Watchdog
Benchmark Security Proactive security monitoring with Configuration Watchdog Keep devices within defined security policy Monitor compliance state for up to 8 security settings Proactively remediate if changes are detected — without manual interaction Track non-compliant events 1. Monitor On-board software monitors security settings 2. Remediate Remediates any non-compliant settings 4. Audit Log All events are captured and logged 3. Alerts Proactive alerts generated if remediation fails The Configuration Watchdog feature sets a new standard for security compliance by enabling system administrators to configure up to 8 security features, monitor them, and automatically reset them in case they are changed by a user. alerts are generated in case remediation is unsuccessful and all events are captured in the audit log. This capability is built into the base firmware, is free to use, does not require external servers to engage, and it is fully compatible with managed print services (MPS) tools such as the Xerox® Device Manager and Xerox® CentreWare® Web 8 security settings to monitor and remediate are (set to enable or disable): User Data Encryption Scheduled Disk Overwrite Immediate Job Overwrite McAfee Audit Log Print from USB Scan to USB Front USB Ports 7

8 Benchmark Security Meet the highest security standards in the industry
AltaLink® MFPs support the newest NIST security requirements set by the U.S. government. It includes, but is not limited to: Strong password policies Prohibiting reuse of passwords Passwords that must differ from user IDs Session security US Department of Defense requires products to be NIST compliant. NIST requires contractors to conform with reasonably expected security policies in use by the US government for years. It establishes a basic set of expectations and maps these requirements to NIST , which is the de facto standard for US government cybersecurity controls. With this software update, AltaLink® MFPs support the NIST security requirements such as strong passwords, prohibiting reuse to passwords, passwords to differ from user IDs and session security. This capability is built into the base software firmware.

9 Enables Next Generation Services
Simplified and efficient fleet management Faster software upgrade — XDM/CWW passes a link to machine for faster download speed vs. slower speed upload data push Software upgrade file size reduction (100MB down from 480MB) gets updates done quicker with less network traffic Fleet Orchestrator — Keeps software upgrades and configuration settings synchronized. Designate one or more machines as the software update host, and set others to download from the host. Improved cloning Complete cloning of all customer settings across the AltaLink® product family Note: This content is primarily relevant to customers in managed print environments. There are significant improvements in this software update for managed services customers who will appreciate the simplified and efficient fleet management. Examples of updated features: XDM/CWW auto detect feature is the ability to automatically detect XDM/CWW servers, thus greatly reducing the time it takes to install and configure a new machine on the customer's network. The software upgrade process takes advantage of faster internet download speeds (vs. slower upload speeds) and enables XDM/CWW to send a link to the devices from where they can download firmware updates. The firmware file size has been greatly reduced from 480MB to 100MB for reduced network traffic and faster downloading. Fleet Orchestrator: Using the hub and spoke concept, the software allows administrators to designate machines as software publishers and others (subscribers) to download software updates from the publisher. Improved cloning – Now system administrators can use all settings in the cloning process that can be applied to all AltaLinks (previously some settings could not be cloned).
