10. Sustainability
Shannopin's golf course was originally designed by Emil Loeffler. Born in Oakmont, Loeffler was the son of Swiss immigrants. Emil was a veteran, professional golfer, and course architect. Loeffler's dream for Shannopin's course has been virtually unchanged since 1920.
Focused on sustainability, our course has honey bee homes on site which produce all of the honey used in our kitchen's recipes. We also tap syrup from our many beautiful maple trees and have apple tree saplings planted around the course in hopes of some "fruitful" returns.

11. Locker Rooms
The clubhouse is fully equipped with both a Men's Locker Room and a Ladies' Locker Room. Members have the opportunity to secure their own personal lockers, along with a wine locker as well. The Locker Rooms, equipped with restrooms, showers, changing areas, and a steam room, are situated near the Pro Shop and entrance to the golf course.

15. The President’s Room
Commonly known as The Pub, The President's Room is one of our more intimate, formal settings, often selected for business meetings, social club gatherings, small breakfasts, and more.

16. Featuring one of the best views from the clubhouse, the Formal Dining Room overlooks the golf course and is an ideal space for small luncheons or dinner parties, private meetings, or special occasions.

The Ballroom
Our newly renovated Grand Ballroom is our largest space, and features a beautiful view of both the golf course and the Pittsburgh skyline. Seating just over 200 people, this room is wonderful for wedding receptions, banquets, large parties, and more. Throughout the warmer months, the Ballroom Patio serves as a wonderful extension to the Ballroom, and can be included in your reservation.

Our primary restaurant, bar, and adjoining patio boasts a breathtaking view of the 18th green. Each seasonal menu features full course and a la carte dinners, as well as casual food selections.

A bar and grille exclusively for male golfers, as this facility is directly adjacent to the men's locker room. It is open for business whenever golfers are on the course.

Shannopin offers a 25-meter pool with lap lane and new kid's splash pad. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, our pool facilities provide enjoyment for the entire family. We also provide a private bath house, snack shop, Tiki bar, swimming lessons, and a competitive swim team.

22. Paddle Courts & Hut *Exclusive to Members
Paddle tennis is a popular winter sport here at Shannopin. Our venue features two regulation courts that are open year-round. We also provide instruction, competitive teams for all skill levels, and a heated gathering area for friends and family to enjoy the sport whilst staying nice and toasty in the winter months.
