Turning Points July 1863 Battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi
Ulysses S. Grant won this battle and gained control of the Mississippi River Battle of Gettysburg this was the farthest North that the Confederacy attacked if the South would have won this battle, it may have caused panic in the North and the rest of the war might have changed

Turning Points August 1864 Sherman takes Atlanta
This victory helps Abraham Lincoln win re-election after Lincoln was re-elected, the end of the war was just a matter of time it is interesting to note that if Sherman would have lost the battle in Atlanta, Lincoln may never have been reelected, and the South might have been granted their independence.
