2. Motion
Any object changes position over time when compared to a reference point

3. Reference Point
Gives location at a specific point which does not move

4. Object at Rest
An object that does not change its position

5. Distance
How far an object travels

6. Displacement
How far an object travels from its starting point

7. Speed
Distance traveled in a given amount of time; velocity

8. Outcome
The result of a single trial of an experiment

9. Experiment
A situation involving chance that leads to results, or outcomes

A list of all possible outcomes of an experiment

11. Event
Outcome for a given situation; trial

12. Simple Event
An event consisting of one outcome

13. Probability
A measure of the likelihood that an event will occur; often written as P(event)

14. Equally Likely
When the probabilities of all the outcomes of an experiment are equal

15. Experimental Probability
The ratio of the number of times an event occurs to the total number of trials performed

16. Theoretical Probability
The mathematical calculation that an event will happen in theory

17. Tree Diagram
A tree-shaped diagram that illustrates the possible outcomes of a given situation

18. Compound Event
Combines two or more events using the word “and” or the word “or”

19. Replacement
Occurs during compound events in which an object is returned to the possible outcomes pool after being selected
