DNA Tells cell when to divide and what new cells should be
DNA is a large carbon based molecule, with other elements. Determines shape and functions of proteins Proteins allow us to Move (Muscles) Use energy (Enzymes) Transport materials in body (Hemoglobin, etc.) Regulate our body chemistry (Hormones) Have an immune system (Antibodies) Division Differentiation

DNA to Cell DNA is the molecule that gets passed from parent to offspring (basis of heredity). Essentially, the blueprint of life (or, the instructions for the proteins necessary for life). The cell is the fundamental unit of life. Nothing below it is considered “alive”. From the cell is where the basis of life exists. Basis of the body, mobility, thinking, homeostasis, and being able to capture and use energy! Basis = underlying support, or foundation

Cellular Division This is when one cell divides into two cells (mitosis). Why would your cells need to do this (Journal #6)?

Cellular Differentiation
This is when one cell changes into another type of cell. Most often a Stem cell changing into a Body or Sex cell. Usually this is a less specialized cell becoming a more specialized cell.
