People in Florida are often exposed to hurricanes because they are on the Gulf Coast.

Stigma (n.) When someone is associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person and they are singled out. * The mean girls at school laugh at Kendra as though she carries a stigma by wearing used clothes.

consequence A result of positive or negative behavior.
Billy was being rude, so he was put in time out as a consequence.

technique Is the way you perform a task.
My dad has a certain technique when he is riding his motorcycle.

perspective The way in which people view or feel about things.
The men have a different perspective of the illusion.

activate To cause it to start working
Example: We need to activate the computer, so I can begin my work.

trigger To cause something, such as a feeling to begin.
Ex: The domino fell and triggered the rest to fall.

turbulence An interruption in the flow of air causing a plane to fly in a rough way. Ex: Sometimes when you’re on an airplane, the weather may be rough and it causes turbulence.

Ex: Ryan and Jack were having pencil fights, showing their immaturity.

aggression Angry violent behavior or action.
Ex: She was aggressively pulling the girls hair.

confidence A person who believes in him/herself.
Ex: Anthony was feeling confident during the Gates test, because he knows the material.

distract Pulling attention away from something or someone.
Ex: The girl was eating her burger, which distracted her from watching the road.
