13 Conjugation/Grammar Practice and memorize tense patterns (présent, passé composé, imparfait, futur, présent de l’impératif, conditionnel, passé simple) Understand and practice grammar rules

14 Independent Reading Students are expected to read a minimum of 20 books in French and 20 books in English. The book reports are written in the Independent Reading Booklet. 50 pages = 1 book in French 100 pages = 1 book in English

15 Monthly Reading Genres
Each month, students will read a book in a specific literary genre (cartoons/manga, historical fiction, biography, science fiction,…) Instead of a summary, they will present a project based on the book. Projects can be a poster, a diorama, a Powerpoint, … These projects will count in the 20 books.

18 Social Studies Social studies will also be integrated with French Reader’s Workshop and English Language Arts. Themes that will be covered: Native Americans Explorers Colonial America US government

19 Agendas/Clean-up 2:45 Homework is copied down in agendas and checked daily (during the first few weeks) Communication folders have homework and other communication papers Please check agendas daily for assignments and upcoming events. Please monitor regularly for homework completion.
