City’s Flood Action Plan
Communication notifications via city’s website will be primary source of communication to residents Door-to-door visits may be conducted for more urgent matters Flood updates and forecasts will be posted on the city’s website under “City Information”

Accessing flood information on website: Click on the “City Information” heading Click on the “Flood Information” section FEMA flood maps Current and projected flood levels Flood resources To receive notices via website: Click on the “ Notices” heading Enter address to be added to distribution list

Sandbags Available to residents free of charge on a first come, first served basis City delivery available for 200 bags or more Residents must contact City Hall 24 hours in advance to request bags Available March 14, 2011 Volunteers needed for sandbagging – Contact City Hall

Evacuation and Clean-up
Procedures for voluntary evacuation Residents shall notify Bayport Police Department if away from home (due to vacation or flooding) Procedures for mandatory evacuation City to notify residents by door-to-door visits City may order any building or portion of a building to be vacated if continued use is dangerous to life, health, or safety of the occupants or on the basis that the level of the river has put city personnel and/or equipment in danger

Procedures for clean-up Sandbags become hazardous material after being exposed to flood water Residents will be responsible for disposing of sandbags in a proper manner
