I’m originally from Poland. My favorite place is Old Town in Warsaw. I make great pierogi. I read 50 books a year. I love playing with my grandchildren. I go to Poland every summer. I love Wizards’ basketball. I love cheesecake.

3 A Little About My Class Students in English 7 will:
Develop oral communication skills Read a variety of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry Produce a variety of written compositions with attention to word choice, organization, style, and grammar Demonstrate correct use of language, spelling, and mechanics Develop and expand their vocabulary Study the informative/persuasive techniques used by the media Apply research techniques to gather, organize, and communicate information

5 A Little About Our Rules and Procedures
Each student is expected to: Come to class prepared with the blue binder and his/her reading book Participate in pair/group activities in a respectful and cooperative manner Contribute to group and class discussions Bring his/her iPad to class to use for class activities and quarterly assessments Complete all homework assignments on time

6 A Little About Homework and Grading Policy
Late Work Homework is to be completed by the date specified in the assignment book Late work will be accepted, however, grade penalty will apply if work is more than a week late Quarterly Grades Formative assessments (for practice) classwork and homework weigh 10% towards the grade Summative assessments (for mastery) reading tasks, writing tasks (30% towards the grade) quizzes, tests, and projects (20% towards the grade) Grades reflect student achievement and not student behavior.
