A chaplain is not a secret undercover worker for the church whose role is to proselytise. This is just project fear from the national secular society. They are someone who, prompted by the love of God works alongside a school staff and students to bring about change. I think that they are ideally placed to support church schools as they seek to fullfil the vision for education bringing wisdom, hope, community and dignity.

10. Along for the journey
I am still linked to a national schools organisation called Youth for Christ and in my past we would visit schools for a day or a week and then go. Not so a chaplain. They are a committed, servant hearted member of your team. They are along for the long haul. Along for the journey.
