Ozone Laundry Overview
Here is What’s on the Agenda for Today! 1. Safety & Agenda 2. Ozone Laundry Overview 3. PG&E Rebates, Incentives & OBF Programs 4. Ozone Laundry Marketing 5. Trade Professional Alliance 6. What Can We Do To Get Projects Started? Q&A
3
What is Ozone? Ozone (O3) is a form of oxygen found naturally in the Earth’s atmosphere that has strong oxidizing properties. Oxidizers are highly reactive chemicals that can be used to decompose and remove organic substances, such as dirt and stains in linens and clothing. When combined with cold water, ozone breaks down molecules of soils, releasing them from the linens. Ozone is like nature’s detergent and an alternative to chlorine and disinfectants.
4
How Does Ozone Laundry Work?
Ambient air is taken in and converted to pure oxygen O2. Electricity separates the molecules then reforms to O3 or Ozone. The O3 gas is injected into the washer then diffused into the wash cycle. The result are clean fluffy towels sanitized done with out hot water.
5
What Are The Benefits? SAVINGS! SAVINGS! SAVINGS!
Ozone Laundry installations have benefits to the customer, contractor and the PG&E rep. Since Ozone uses cold water, this results in huge therm savings. Also there is Kwh savings as well since the start up of the water heater uses electricity. The customer benefits also from using less chemicals in the wash cycle reducing which in turn reduces drying times which also increases electrical savings (reduces Kwh) and total cost to the customer. SAVINGS! SAVINGS! SAVINGS!

Core Rebate Programs
7
Overview of Core EE Programs
Deemed Rebates Customized Incentives Prescriptive 1:1 Rebates Fixed Rebate Amounts Quick Payment (2-4 Weeks) No Calculations Needed Apply After Installation If Deemed, Must Go Deemed Calculated Based on EE Savings Much Longer Incentive Payout Timelines Require Pre and Post Inspection Variable Incentive Payouts Incentive Must Exceed $2,000 MS
8
Two Ways PG&E Pays • Rebate is only applicable to the following types of facilities with on-premise laundry operations: Hotels Gymnasiums Skilled Nursing Facilities Correctional Institutions • Ozone laundry system must be a new, purchased product and must be added onto a new or existing commercial washing machine. • Ozone laundry system must transfer ozone into the water through Venturi Injection or bubble diffusion. • Installation address must have a commercial natural gas account with PG&E. Custom Incentives are paid on the energy savings and peak demand reduction above and beyond the Title 24 or industry standard practice baseline energy performance. 2018 Customized Program Incentives Rates Natural Gas / Therms $1.00/therm Peak Demand $150/kW

On Bill Financing
10
What is On-Bill Financing?
On-Bill Financing is a $80M revolving loan fund (RLF), used to finance energy efficiency projects for PG&E non-residential customers. The RLF uses ratepayer funds and is loaned at 0% As customers repay their loans, those funds can be loaned out again Loan payments are intended to be ‘bill-neutral,’ meaning they are based on the estimated energy cost savings from the EE project REPAYMENT SAVINGS EQUIPMENT 0% LOAN
11
On-Bill Loan Terms 1 OBF is financial obligation – it’s a loan, not a grant OBF IS NOT FREE MONEY Save time: Make sure your customers understand this up front OBF loan payments will be flat monthly, irrespective of seasonal energy use/savings variations Loans based on annual average energy use – consistent payments throughout year (and life of loan) For Ozone Laundry Installs PG&E is increasing the Loan Terms to months!
12
How does it work? ESTIMATED ANNUAL ENERGY COSTS SAVINGS CALCULATION $0.18 X 12,000 = $2,160 SIMPLE PAYBACK IN YEARS CALCULATION IS LOAN AMOUNT DIVIDED BY EST ANNUAL ENERGY SAVNGS - $9,000 DIVIDED BY $2,160 = ROUNDED UP TO 4.17 YEARS FOR SIMPLE PAYBACK PAYBACK MONTHS CALCULATION 4.17 YEARS X 12 MONTHS = MONTHS ROUNDED TO 50 ADDED 1 MONTH FOR BILL NEUTRALITY – 51 MONTHS MONTHLY LOAN PAYMENT CALCUATION ; LOAN AMT DIVIDED BY LOAN TERM - $9,000 DIVIIDED BY 51 MONTHS = $176.47
