Week of: January 23, 2019 ELA: This week we will continue Module 3 of Wit and Wisdom. Module 3 explores different immigrants and the journeys they take. We reread the two stories “Grandfather’s Journey” and “Tea with Milk” and complete a writing comparing and contrasting their journeys and experiences. Math: This week we are continuing module 5 which is our fractions unit. We will continue learning about fractions. We will be using number bonds to represent parts of one whole as fractions. We will build and write fractions greater than one whole using unit fractions and compare fractions and specify the whole using fraction strips. We will complete a study guide in class in preparation for our first test. Social Living: This week will continue our Economics unit in Social Studies. We will learn about supply and demand and how the price of items increase or decrease. We will also learn about goods and services. We will continue reading Sources and answering questions to prepare for LEAP. I have extended the date of the test..
