2 What is the Advanced International Certificate of Education(AICE)?
The Cambridge AICE program is an international curriculum and examination system that emphasizes the value of broad and balanced study. AICE students will gain an in-depth understanding of a variety of subjects, as well as master a broad range of skills critical for success in university study. AICE courses help students become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged learners. Upon completion of the AICE program, high school graduates will be prepared to tackle the demands of tomorrow’s world and capable of shaping a better world for the future.

3 What is the Advanced International Certificate of Education(AICE)?

4 Why Advanced International Certificate of Education(AICE)?
Cambridge students can be confident that their qualifications will be understood and valued throughout their education and career, in their home country and internationally.  100% of Ivy League Universities recognize and accept Cambridge credits. All Florida Public Colleges award credit for all passing scores on AICE exams. AICE diploma equals full Bright Futures regardless of SAT/ACT score and GPA. Community service hours are still needed to qualify for Bright Futures.

5 How do I become an AICE student?
Must have a 4 or 5 on FSA reading and writing exam Must have passed Algebra 1 course with an A or B and passed FSA Algebra 1 exam with a 3, 4, or 5. Must take AP Human Geography in 9th grade All qualified students received an invitation to be in Pre-AICE courses at the start of the school year. Students will receive a Statement of Intent indicating their desire to or not to be enrolled in Pre-AICE classes for the school year. If a student desires to become a part of the program and did not receive an invitation, they will need to complete an application.

7 How do you earn an AICE diploma?
Candidates must sit and pass seven examinations including Global Perspectives over 25 months. Students will take their first exam in 10th grade Candidates must choose at least one examination from Groups A, B, and C in addition to Global Perspectives (Group D): Group A: Mathematics & Science Group B: Languages including English Group C: Arts & Humanities Group D: Interdisciplinary and Skills Based Subjects

Is AICE a pre-Major? Yes, as of , AICE is its own pre-major. Students may take pre-major courses, however, AICE as a pre-major opens up elective spots in the student schedule. How are Pre-AICE and AICE classes weighted? Pre-AICE classes hold the same weight as Honors classes (5.0 on a 4.0 scale); AICE classes hold the same weight as AP and Dual Enrollment classes (6.0 on a 4.0 scale). Does earning the AICE Diploma qualify a student for Florida Bright Futures? Students who earn the AICE Diploma and complete 100 hours of community service during their high school career automatically earn the Florida Bright Futures scholarship regardless of GPA or SAT/ACT scores.

Is AICE comparable with IB and AP? All three programs (AP, IB, AICE) are well established in the education community and in colleges and universities around the country. Both AICE and IB are accepted at colleges and universities around the world. The main difference between AICE and IB is flexibility of the AICE Diploma. Students have the freedom to create their own educational experience within the AICE curriculum areas. Can a student Dual Enroll and be in the AICE program? A student’s ability to Dual Enroll while participating in the AICE program is dependent upon how they build their path to the AICE Diploma. Each student will have a different path based on the AICE classes they choose to take, which will determine their ability to participate in Dual Enrollment.
