Graduation Requirements
Total Credits: 24 credits English- 4 Credits Math- 4 Credits Algebra 1 Geometry 2 math additional courses Science – 3 Credits Biology 2 additional equally rigorous Social Studies- 3 Credits World History (1.0) American History (1.0) American Government (.5cr) Economics (.5cr) Other Courses HOPE- 1 Credit PA/PF - 1 Credit Electives- 8 Credits World Language- 2 years of the same language recommended Other Requirements: Passing score on the 10th grade FSA Reading Passing score on Algebra 1 EOC A cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher 1 online course in its entirety

GPA & Class Rank GPA: Unweighted
Used for graduation & athletic eligibility A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0 Weighted: Used for Class Rank Honors Courses A=5, B=4, C=3, D=1, F=0 AP/DE/Post Secondary A=6. B=5. C=4. D=1. F=0 Class Rank: Class ranks are calculated each semester beginning in the junior year. Final class rank occurs after Fall semester of the Senior year.

Scholar Diploma Designations
Algebra II Statistics or Equally rigorous math Chemistry or Physics 1 credit in Equally rigorous to chemistry or physics 2 credits in same world language Earn 1 credit in AP, IB, AICE or Dual Enrollment course. Pass Biology EOC, Geometry EOC, and U.S. History EOC A student is exempt from the Biology or US History EOC if student is enrolled in an AP Bio or history and takes the AP assessment and earns a 3 or higher.

Merit Diploma Designations
Attain one or more industry certifications For Example: Autodesk Adobe Microsoft office specialist JavaScript Vet Assisting CIW Network Tech Associate

What is AP? AP means Advanced Placement. AP Courses are rigorous and are taught at a college level. There is an AP exam at the end of the the course. This exam does not impact your grade in the course. Many colleges will award credit for students who earn a passing score. It is different from college to college. Weighted -- A=6pts

What is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for students to take college courses while in high school Can be through Valencia, UCF, or UF Online We offer some Valencia courses on campus Recommend waiting until Junior Year for most DE Courses Deadlines are NOT Flexible Weighted -- A = 6pts Valencia DE Parent Night = Feb. 6pm UF Parent Night=March

Open to Juniors and Seniors Must have 2.0 unweighted GPA & be on track for graduation AP Weighted credit in most programs Take elective classes with a career focus -3 periods per day Earn Industry Certifications Articulation to Valencia College Contact Shawna Sherry at for more information

Recommendations Students are encouraged to take core classes each year after req are met. Students should use electives as a chance to explore areas of interests. Students should consider other time commitments when selecting the most rigorous schedule.

College Admissions & other standardized tests
PSAT (Practice SAT) 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students took this test in October 11th grade students should take the test to try to score high enough to qualify for the National Merit scholarship program. SAT (College Admissions test) Should take starting in 11th grade 3 sections (Critical Reading, Mathematics, and optional Writing) Free practice available: ACT (College Admissions test) 4 sections (English, Mathematics, Reading, & Science) plus an optional Writing section (Writing section may be required by some colleges)
