Monday, October 16 On a sheet of paper, create a piece of writing about the following subject. The aim of these writing prompts is to encourage free-writing. This is writing without stopping and without censoring. Writing in this way can help to break through blocks like self-criticism and fear of failure, to find your own, unique voice. Subject: What are you afraid of?

Tuesday, October 17 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, create a new paragraph about the following topic: Topic: What are your thoughts on cooking? REMEMBER: DON’T THINK, JUST WRITE!

Wednesday, October 18 1st and 3rd: Finish up your Citing Evidence Practice in OneNote. (use the directions on the board if you do not remember how to get there.) 4th: Continue working on your foreshadowing sheets. (I have a few to hand back.) 5th/6th: Continue working on questions for Ch. 1 of Animal Farm.

Thursday, October 19 On the same sheet of paper as Tuesday, create a new paragraph about the following topic: Topic: Write about something you got for free. REMEMBER: DON’T THINK, JUST WRITE!

Friday, October 20 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, write me a 2 paragraph Free Write! Once you are finished, turn in your bell work for the week to me!

Monday, October 23 On a sheet of paper, list five things you most dislike touching, then find five adjectives to describe each item (e.g. maggots - slithery, wriggly, writhing, etc.).

Tuesday, October 24 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, choose a cliche and write an argument against it. If you can use your own - or someone else's - experience, to support your argument, all the better. Here are a few cliches to start you off: - What goes around comes around - Money is the root of all evil - Laughter is the best medicine - There's no such thing as a free lunch - All good things come to those who wait - Revenge is a dish best served cold

Wednesday, October 25 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, write from the point of view of a household item. Then write a dialogue between yourself and the item. This should be at least a half page of dialogue.

Thursday, October 26 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, write about five ridiculous things you'd like to try once. These must be school appropriate, children.

Friday, October 27 On the same sheet of paper as yesterday, write about the sun as though you love it. Then write about it as though you hate it. This should be at least two paragraphs. Once you are finished, turn in all your bell work to Ms. Holmes!
