Theme : “Progressing towards excellence” The challenge for European Public Administrations in difficult times EIPA CAF Resource Centre Draft programme (see separate document) Available at Sub themes: Culture of change – the 8 principles of excellence – strategic planning – performance measuring and monitoring Keynote speakers on each of the sub-themes 2 times 4 parallel sessions on the 8 principles of excellence one parallel session on the national strategies Presentation of the PEF and the CAF for education Plenary session on the future of CAF

Planning June – October: promotion event & national registration 28 September: coordination CAF NC, input programme Early October: information package available from Romania 15 October: state of affairs national registration October: gather presentations and full case descriptions November: registrations online Th. 17 – Fr. 18/12/09: event EIPA CAF Resource Centre Lessons learned from the 3rd European CAF Users event and the CAF Centre at the 5 QC Strengths Interactive parallel sessions with cases, time for discussion Innovative approaches Keynote speakers: inspirational, visionary need to be carefully chosen CAF clinic CD with presentations at the end Improvement More time for the cases and for discussion/interaction More concrete info and less theory (no detailed info on the process) Language skills speakers More time for networking foresee space at the event for that e.g. corner for 2nd or 3rd time CAF users for interaction between them Proposal to increase the role of the NC, to envisage presentation given beforehand by the organisation to the CAF NC and briefing by the CAF NC at the CAF expert meeting (Sept 2009)
