TWITTER TOWN HALL ONGOING
13
Why communicate this way?
In the age of the Common Core and PARCC, we should try to… Leverage multimedia resources to make our points Collaborate across state lines to share resources and ideas Review best practices in an open and honest way Catch up with our fellow educators in between in-person meetings and events
14
Setting up your Twitter account
It’s easy to do! Go to Enter your full name, address and password on the left hand side of the screen Click “Sign up” Create your handle (screen name) Search for other users and topics using the “search” function at the top of the screen Remember # is for topics (#askPARCC) is for a person’s handle
15
Prolific Tweeters are among us!
16
A few simple rules… Less is always more Be clear and consistent with your messaging Think deeply about your online persona Know the limits of the tools you’re using Be strategic about where you publish and disseminate information Be thoughtful about who you engage Don’t be afraid to use social media to reach out to those you don’t yet know—but want to!
17
Our Twitter Town Hall starts at 4:15pm ET, but feel free to tweet about your experience until then!
