ANPR = Automatic Number Plate Recognition
WHAT IS ANPR? ANPR = Automatic Number Plate Recognition It is a system made up of specialised cameras and software designed to automatically read a number plate on a vehicle. In a security framework, this number plate is cross checked against a database of vehicles which have been identified as wanted for criminal activity. What does this mean for LWRA? LWRA intends to rollout and utilise this technology at all of its access entrance points into the suburb. LWRA will then be able to identify all stolen, false, cloned, suspicious and wanted vehicles entering the area. Together with LWRA’s partners like SAPS, Private Security and CPF, a response team is then despatched to apprehend the vehicle prior to the occupants posing any further threat to the safety of the residents. A Proactive Method to reducing crime in our neighbourhood. Advantages of the ANPR: Immediate and proactive response to security threats in real time Automated notification and communications to all respondents Automated boom entry for all paying registered members Anti-cloning feature

The success of the ANPR system LWRA intends implementing is based on 3 factors:
The latest technology and camera system integrated with a highly recommended service – SYNTELL Syntell has established a large footprint and have system rolled out at areas like Emperor’s Palace. They also have established and maintain high levels of co-operation with law enforcement throughout Gauteng. Their system is also used by EMPD. The backbone infrastructure required to operate the system, including the communication infrastructure – LEVEL 7 INTERNET Will be providing Fibre connections and infrastructure required to successfully operate the system. They guarantee connectivity with 99% uptime, no latency, guaranteed upload and download speeds and they provide a SLA agreement to monitor performance and maintenance. The successful monitoring, response and maintenance of the system – BAD BOYS Bad Boyz has been providing guarding services with a proven track record. Their experience in Offsite monitoring and efforts in JHB crime fighting has been acknowledged by SAPS. All three factors have been selected after thorough market research but they do come at a cost to implement. Our immediate phase of rollout includes ANPR rollout at all 7 booms entrance points, plus Mosque gate that feed into the area. For this we require a capital injection for infrastructure of R170,000, while running costs would be R10,000 per month. We are appealing to you for pledges, donations and sponsorships to this impressive system which will be improving the security for all the residents that stay within LWRA borders.
