Low-Cost and Zero-Cost Books Tagging
10
New Textbook Tagging system in PeopleSoft
Low-Cost Books: The total cost of required texts and textbooks is less than $40 (this includes ancillaries, such as an “access code” but not supplies, like a graphing calculator or pencils). Zero-Cost Books: The total cost of required texts and textbooks is $0 (this includes ancillaries, such as an “access code” but not supplies, like a graphing calculator or pencils). Chairs, Deans, or Office Managers should tag courses as LCB or ZCB when staffing and submitting textbook orders.
11
Students can search for classes according to ”course attribute”
12
There is a drop-down menu for filtering search results
13
All class searches include a column identifying LCB / ZCB courses
14
Anyone can tag their courses as LCB or ZCB, as long as they fit the definition

What are OER? Open Educational Resources are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others. (William and Flora Hewlett Foundation)
21
The 5 R’s of OER Importantly OER materials attempt to preserve these 5 capacities (Wiley 2014): Retain: the right to make, own , and control copies of the content. Reuse: the right to use the content in a wide range of ways. Revise: the right to adapt, adjust, modify, or alter the content itself. Remix: the right to combine the original or revised content with other open content to create something new. Redistribute: the right to share copies of the original content, your revisions, or your remixes with others.
