6. Added Value Assessment
Required only for National 4
Set by the SQA
Assessed as Pass or Fail by the school
These are internally moderated
Undergo an SQA quality assurance process

7. Course Assessments
In most cases a final exam and one other method from the previous list are used
A few courses are entirely assessed by the school(Dance, Hospitality)
Results are graded from A to D or No Award
A to C is a pass
D is a recognition of achievement

8. Prelim and SQA Exams Prelims 25th Jan to 5th Feb 2016
SQA Wed 4 May until Fri 3 June
Study leave for all S5/6 pupils

9. Results Service The SQA offer two services
Exception Circumstances Services(bereavement, serious illness) submitted before results are issued.
Post Results Service( a clerical check or a marking review) There needs to be compelling evidence before these are requested. The Grade could go DOWN as well as up.
