Sentence Structures Today we will be looking at how we can develop our sentence structure, including looking at how to start them in different ways. The tornado wrecked the house. What could we do to change this simple sentence into a complex one?

Developing Sentences The tornado wrecked the house.
Take your sentence and slot in describing sections (adjectives) before the nouns . The ferocious tornado wrecked the isolated house. Create one of your own by slotting in different adjectives.

Developing Sentences The ferocious tornado wrecked the isolated house. Take your improved sentence and slot in a subordinate clause (not a full sentence) after the noun. The ferocious tornado, which was filled with debris, wrecked the isolated house. Create one of your own by slotting in a subordinate clause

Changing the start Can you change the order of your sentence so that it doesn’t start with ‘The’ but still makes sense? For example: The ferocious tornado, which was filled with debris, wrecked the isolated house. Filled with debris, the ferocious tornado wrecked the isolated house.
