The Positivity Project
Ms. Romani’s Newsletter 2019 The Positivity Project The words we are focusing on for the positivity project this month are social intelligence, open-mindedness, and love! We hope to see these character traits throughout our classroom and our school! Looking Forward Math: In math we will continue working with fractions and decimals. We will begin to focus more on using fractions and decimals in mathematical equations. Reading: In reading we will begin to learn about making inferences and we will be working with comparing and contrasting toward the end of the month. Science: In science we will continue to uncover earth’s layers and begin to learn about the rock cycle. Social Studies: In social studies we will continue learning about U.S. colonial life. We will also begin working on a project-based assessment this month! D.A.R.E. Graduation! Please join us for D.A.R.E. graduation on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 9:15 in the cafeteria. The students have worked hard this school year learning about the D.A.R.E. decision making model and about how to implement it in their lives. Each student was required to write an essay about what they have learned in D.A.R.E. in order to graduate, and our friend Jocelyn Garcia was chosen to share hers at D.A.R.E. graduation. Congratulations! Reminders ∙ This month we celebrate the birthdays of John Simmons, Emily Weeks, Daniel Madsen, and Layla Davis! Happy Birthday!! ∙ The students have no school on Monday, January 21, an early out on Monday, January 28, and no school on Tuesday, January 29. ∙ Mat crew begins on Thursday, January 3 and will continue through Friday, March 22. ©The Little Ladybug Shop
