The Ferrers School Ofsted Inspection
Following our Ofsted monitoring inspection in December 2018, the Inspector stated: “Leaders and managers are taking effective action towards the removal of special measures. The trust’s statement of action is fit for purpose. The school’s improvement plan is fit for purpose.”

Sawtry Village Academy
Sawtry Village Academy joined CMAT whilst in special measures in April 2015 Just nine months later it was taken out of special measures Three years later the academy received a good Ofsted rating, with an outstanding sixth form Sarah Wilson, principal of Sawtry Village Academy, will be working closely with The Ferrers School’s senior leadership team, as Executive Principal Sawtry Village Academy

About CMAT In 2017, CMAT was ranked as the 5th best performing multi- academy trust for its GCSE results in the Department for Education league tables.

Corby Secondary Academy
CMAT is working on an exciting project to build a brand new free school in Northamptonshire It is proposed that the school will be built on land north of the Oundle Road and the village of Weldon, subject to planning permission CMAT hopes to open its doors to the first set of Year 7 students in September 2020 This is a very exciting opportunity for The Ferrers School, who will be able to work closely with the new school throughout the process

Pledges Pledges is an awards system which offers students a range of character building opportunities that enhance their learning and development The Pledges system aims encourages and supports many important qualities in students, such as responsibility, expectation, intuition and citizenship, all of which are crucial for giving students employability and brighter futures Pledges is also designed to help students meet requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme up to Gold level

Vertical Tutoring & House System
A vertical tutoring system means tutor groups will incorporate students from each year group, from Year 7 to Year 11 This allows our students to support each other and provide positive role models for their younger peers It also ensures students have a wider sense of school life and the different steps at each stage of their education

Under Review: Curriculum:
Moving to a 3 year Key Stage 4 Curriculum to extend the depth of study in Core Subjects (English, Maths, Sciences, Humanities and Languages) whilst maintaining breadth of subjects choices across the option subjects in the Arts, Design and Technology, IT & Business and Sport. (Current Year 8 for September 2019, & Current Year 7 for September 2020) Introduction of a Core Studies Curriculum which will incorporate aspects of Personal, Social, Health, Careers Education and Religious Studies for all year groups.
