5 Key Terms Motivation - is literally the desire to do things. It's the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day. It's the crucial element in setting and attaining goals Intrinsic - refers to behaviour that is driven by internal rewards. In other words, the motivation to engage in a behaviour arises from within the individual because it is naturally satisfying to you Extrinsic - refers to behaviour that is driven by external rewards such as money, fame, grades, and praise. This type of motivation arises from outside the individual
