Questions due to Procurement & Strategic Sourcing - April 08, Noon Delivery of Proposals - April 15, 2019 by 4:00 pm Evaluation of Proposals - Week of April 19, 2019 Announcement of Selected VENDOR - Week of April 25, 2019 Readiness for Service/Contract Commencement - June 2019

6 Submission of Proposals
Proposals are due by electronic submission on April 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm The link for bid submission have been posted with the bid details at beginning March 26, 2019 Proposals are limited to 25 pages total. Prices and other requested data must be on the Schedules Provided Proposals must be responsive and satisfy all mandatory requirements Any deviation from requirements must be noted in Exhibit 1 as Restricted Services

9 Vendor Presentations Selected VENDORS may be invited to make a presentation at a set time and date 04/23/19 - 9:30 am - 12:00 pm 04/25/19 - 9:30 am - 12:00 pm Presentations are to clarify information provided in the proposals Will include a Question and Answer period at the end of the Presentation Invitations are at the sole discretion of the University

10 Scope of Work The Vivarium is approximately 10,400 GSF, excluding the Mechanical Area. The Proposed Space Allocation for Item #4, defined as Intensive Alteration Option, delineates the following requirements: Dedicated Animal Holding = 2,850 SF Dedicated Procedure/Lab Space = 881 SF Flexible Animal Hold. Or Proc. = 0 SF Dedicated Storage = 849 SF Staff/Support = 713 SF Cage Wash = 1,704 SF Corridor = 2,185 SF Net Usable Total SF = 9,182 SF

11 Scope of Work It will be each Responder’s responsibility to examine “Exhibit A” in its entirety; which includes; Executive Summary Project Introduction Existing Conditions Systems Description Needed Improvements to Meet Current Design Standards and Best Practices Options (Item #4 is selected) Reference Guides

Appendix A – Vivarium Floor Plans Please note, Sheet #4, Sheet Title “Intensive Alteration Option”, Issue “Revision” Dated , is the Plan that Captures the Desired Scope Improvements. Please note, Sheet #1, Sheet Title “Existing Plan”, Issue “Engineering Use” Dated , is the Plan that Captures Existing Conditions Appendix B – Areas Served by Existing Air Supply Systems Appendix C – Phasing Plan Appendix D – Estimate of Probable Cost

14 Proposals Must Include
Organizational data that demonstrates the size, scope and capability of the Company A complete description of the products and services offered Vendor’s qualifications to meet the RFP specifications

17 Other Information All Proposals are subject to the State of Michigan Freedom of Information Act If awarded a contract, VENDOR must provide a Certificate of Insurance as outlined in Schedule B Vendors should include any Supplier Diversity information (self or sub-contractors) Construction or construction like work must be performed at Prevailing Wage Rates Wayne State has a smoke- and tobacco-free policy for indoor and outdoor spaces

18 Reminders The UNIVERSITY reserves the right to accept, reject, modify, and/or negotiate any and all proposals All information related to this RFP will be posted to the Project site at If a List Serve has been established, those wishing notifications must register as listed in the RFP All questions concerning this Request for Proposal are to be directed to Robert Kuhn, Senior Buyer, ; A copy should be submitted to Ken Doherty, AVP – Procurement, ; Do not contact the Facilities Planning & Management, or other University Units, directly as this may result in disqualification of your proposal Interaction with students and/or staff not connected to the project is prohibited
