4. VALIDATION
Validation is an online process that requires the owner of the motor vehicle to add all vehicle details into the URA system. This is therefore a process of transition from old system, Motor Vehicle Information System (MOVIS) to e-tax system so as to quicken and simplify all other services in regard to motor vehicle like transfers.
Validation exercise was started in June 2012 with an aim of getting all vehicles that had been registered before this period captured on to the system

5. How Then Do We Validate a Motor Vehicle?
A URA account is mandatory . User can log in their URA account; to do this one needs to have a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and their used during TIN application must be valid. Have a copy of the LogBook(green Logbook) at hand!

6. Walk through on how our clients can validate their vehicles
Go to enter user ID and password then log in

7. Under motor vehicle registration select add vehicle detail
Under Purpose Select ‘New Application’ or Select ‘Re Submission’

8. Under applicant details, select preferred office location to collect new registration book
Kindly Note Currently, the User can Print LogBooks from their TIN Profile

9. Select vehicle details and add all mandatory fields then click next at the bottom
Note: The Most challenging part is the Correct Manufacturer’s model
Please confirm that the model of your vehicle is available on the system by checking Item 4 under vehicle details. If its not available , send to

10. Enter vehicle registration number, effective date of registration, application and registration type.

11. On submission an e-acknowledgment receipt will be generated

12. CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
Change of ownership is a process by which the owner of a Motor Vehicle is able to transfer ownership to another person on the URA system.
This can be done on-line for Vehicles that are validated or can me done manually for vehicles that are not Validated yet.

13. How Do We Transfer a Motor Vehicle?
A URA account is mandatory . User can log in their URA account; to do this one needs to have a Tax Identification Number (TIN), and their used during TIN application must be valid.

Go to enter user ID and password then log in

15. Under motor vehicle registration select Applications
Under Purpose Select ‘Change of Ownership’

16. Under Purpose, Check Item 1(a), enter the Correct MV number
Please Note you can only transfer MV that is Registered to you. ELSE!!
