Part-time employees may also become eligible to enroll in these benefits if they average 30 or more paid hours during an ACA measurement period. Remember that on each slide of this presentation, you’ll see a “NEXT” button. Click on that button to move to the next slide when you’re ready. Also, please be sure to read all the information on each slide, as well as listen to our voice narration. Sometimes we’ll mention information not shown in the text, and sometimes there’ll be text on the slide we won’t read.

Our short-term disability and long-term disability serve this same purpose, providing income when you are unable to work, but those two benefits are covered in the other presentation focused on our LSS life and disability benefits. This particular presentation focuses only on the three benefits offered through Voya… Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital benefits, and the primary goals of this very brief presentation is to define what each of these benefits provides and inform you of another more detailed video about these benefits that was produced by Voya themselves. Critical Illness coverage will pay you a lump sum benefit if and when a diagnosis is made for a critical condition such as these listed here. Hospital coverage will you pay you a lump-sum benefit to help cover the costs associated with a hospital stay. YOU decide how to spend this money, but this benefit is thought of as a way to complements your health plan coverage and help with out-of-pocket expenses medical insurance may not cover, such as co-insurance, co-pays, and deductibles. But at the end of the day, you can use this money for whatever expenses you need it for – medical-related or not. Accident coverage is designed to help you meet those out-of-pocket expenses that can follow even ordinary accidents. It covers you 24 hours a day, both on and off the job.

Some things to note: None of these benefits exclude “pre-existing conditions” These voluntary benefits listed below are paid for entirely by the employee (LSS does not share any of the costs) All premiums are deducted on a post-tax basis, 2x per month Coverage under all 3 benefits is “portable” if you leave employment with LSS If you’d like to learn more about these 3 different benefits, please watch this more detailed video produced by Voya by clicking here You may also view a summary of these benefits and the costs associated with carrying the coverage by clicking here Some things to note: None of these benefits exclude “pre-existing conditions”; These voluntary benefits listed below are paid for entirely by the employee (and LSS does not share any of the costs with you like we do for a lot of our other benefits); All premiums are deducted on a post-tax basis, 2x per month. The fact that you pay your premiums on a post-tax basis (rather than a pre-tax basis like your medical premiums) means that you are not prohibited from dropping the coverage at any time during the year; Coverage under all 3 benefits is “portable” which means you can take your coverage with you if you leave employment with LSS If you’d like to learn more about these 3 different benefits, please watch this more detailed video produced by Voya by clicking here You may also view a summary of these benefits and the costs associated with carrying the coverage by clicking here
