Best Buy task (30 mins) Divide yourselves into groups. Each group must put together a presentation to recommend a complete home entertainment system for the Smith family. You have a budget of £1500–£2000 to spend. You must be prepared to present and justify your recommendations.

Home entertainment requirements
The Smith family want to be able to: watch digital television watch films in high definition and in 3D turn their living room into a home cinema with surround sound record programmes so that they can watch them when it’s convenient catch up with programmes they forgot to record download films from the internet and watch them on the TV play computer games on the TV view their photos and home movies on the TV’s big screen watch films downloaded from the internet on the desktop PC on the TV in the living room

Impact on family life (15 mins)
Discussion: consider ways in which having access to a limitless supply of online entertainment might impact on the Smith’s family life, their socialising and health and well-being. Consider both positives and negatives.
