elearning is the use of technology to enable people to learn anytime and anywhere.
“Learning” part is most important. Rapid development tools (like Articulate Suite) make elearning easier to develop, but you still need to apply adult learning principles, theories and processes to create good learning solutions.

Cost effective for large numbers, where learners are in remote locations, and where course will be repeated, less paper, no travel or venue costs)
