Study support and reading program
Last year the school introduced study support for class 10 and 12 ( board exam going classes) after school hours. Selected boys who lack facilities and environment at home to study were housed in the school campus for about 2 months . This helped students perform reasonably well in their board exams. Reading program was introduced for classes 3,4, and 5 last year. Students were asked to stay for an hour after school. The out come of this programme is that we could introduce English medium for class 6 this year for selected students . This year we are also planning to appoint two teachers from October 1st who will support reading program and also handle students with special needs. One period will be allotted to classes 1 to 6 everyday for reading Tamil and English since we felt that reading twice a week is not sufficient for these children.
