How to make our note-taker:
Step 1: Count panels Step 2: Fold each panel into an accordion Step 3: GLUE ONE side on an end panel to notebook
5
Label each stage: IN ORDER
Interphase Prophase Metaphase Anaphase Telophase Cytokinesis
6
INTERPHASE
7
INTERPHASE Gap 1 (G1): cell growth and normal functions
Synthesis (S): copies DNA Gap 2 (G2): additional growth
8
Mitosis Mitosis is a 4-stage process in which two identical nuclei are created before cell division. Mitosis occurs in animal and plant cells, though there are some differences between the two.
9
Mitosis- Prophase Breaks down the nuclear envelope. Chromosomes (DNA) condense. Mitotic spindle formed. Centrioles move to sides.
10
Mitosis- Metaphase Chromosomes line up in the middle and attach to the (mitotic) spindle fibers.
11
Mitosis- Anaphase The spindle fibers shorten
Chromosomes move to opposite poles.
12
Mitosis- Telophase The nuclear envelope reforms Chromosomes spread out
Spindle fibers dissolve.
13
Cytokinesis Divides cytoplasm into 2 cells
14
Use the coloring code table to color each cell.
Cell Cycle Matching Directions: Use the coloring code table to color each cell. Use your textbook to help you determine each stage. Cut & Paste each stage in the box on your note-taker.
