12 The Conquest of Jericho
Joshua 6

13 We have to be bold to face the New Challenges of a New World
The 7’s that are repeated in the account of the defeat of Jericho symbolize a new start for God’s people. A journey into a new land and new experiences.

14 Joshua 1:7-9 (NIV) “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

15 The Bible COMMANDS us to not be afraid over 110 times!

29 GOD is with Us so we are not afraid
When we actively participate in God’s plan rather than beg him to intervene in our plans then victory is gauranteed.

30 Joshua 5:13-15 (NIV) Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

31 But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 (NIV) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

32 We can be BRAVE because... Jesus Has Overcome We Are Not Alone
Jesus came into this world, born with a single purpose to overcome sin and death. God Promised Help God erases our fear of rejection by grace, promising to help us even though we don’t deserve it. We Are Not Alone God has promised to go before us, and Jesus has promised to never leave us.
