Analysis of thiamine biosynthesis in the wild type and double transport mutant.
Analysis of thiamine biosynthesis in the wild type and double transport mutant. Expression of biosynthesis was quantitated via RT-qPCR of thiC (A) and thiS (B) in both wild-type and double transport mutant backgrounds of B. thetaiotaomicron at 0, 100, and 10,000 nM concentrations of thiamine for the wild type and 100 and 10,000 nM concentrations of thiamine for the double transport mutant. Expression of tnr3 was also measured in the wild type and double transport mutant at 0 and 10,000 nM thiamine (C) in order to ensure that the double transport mutant did not have a polar effect on downstream genes. SD, standard deviation; N.G., no growth was achieved to carry out the experiment; N.T., not tested at a certain concentration. Zachary A. Costliow, and Patrick H. Degnan mSystems 2017; doi: /mSystems
