The association does not impose rules on: Age limits, Dead periods, or Phone call, text message or email frequency limits Institutions and conferences may institute more stringent policies.

Applies to students at NAIA, NCAA & junior colleges If student you are recruiting enrolls or begins practicing at another institution, must stop contact immediately.

Any tryout or visit must be allowed by general university policy for recruiting students with exceptional talents. Tryouts may only take part on your campus and may involve current student athletes. (Does not count toward 24 week season) Any prospective student must receive approval prior to any campus visit resulting in lost class time.

An athlete must be designated as varsity if he/she competes in any intercollegiate contest that: Is included in varsity statistics and/or won-loss record; Can be used for qualification for postseason competition; or Can be counted toward team scoring for the varsity team. Financial aid to junior varsity-only participants will not count against the institutions allowable limits and will not be reported to the NAIA.

Continuing Students: ½ Exemption 3.3 - 3.59 GPA, Full Exemption 3.60 – 4.0 GPA Incoming Freshman ½ Exemption 1050 SAT/23 ACT, 3.5 - 3.74 GPA, High school class rank 11% - 25% Full Exemption 1200 SAT/27 ACT, 3.75 - 4.0 GPA, High school class rank top 10%.. Exemption is earned based on prior years final academic info.

A week is Sunday at 12 am through Saturday at 11:59 pm Maximum of 3 breaks in the 24-week season. Postseason Implications: Conference Championship – Practice time does not count from the start of the conference tournament through elimination from national championship. No Conference Championship - Practice time does not count from the end of qualification period through the national championship.

Weight training and conditioning does not constitute practice and does not have to be included in the teams 24-weeks. Alumni contests are considered to be competition within the institution and fall within the definition of practice. Ineligible student-athletes may participate in practice activities and intra-squad practices with the team.

Institution must be a four-year degree-granting institution. Team must be a varsity program.

Is noted as an Exhibition on the institutional schedule Is against a non-NAIA opponent Each sport is allowed one exhibition contest with the exception of basketball (one or more exhibitions allowed) and football (0 exhibitions allowed). Students must be eligible for exhibitions and will be charged a season of competition

18 [Insert CONFERENCE NAME via Slide Master View] 18 Insert Conference Logo via Slide Master View Scheduling: Scrimmages Definition: A competition against competitors not identified with the institution when: The competition is not listed or is noted as a scrimmage on the institutional schedule; No scores or statistics are reported by either institution; No admission is charged. Any sport below the maximum number of contests may conduct additional scrimmages up to the NAIA contest limit. Students must be eligible for scrimmages but will not be charged a season of competition.

These dates allow for jamboree type scrimmages where a school can scrimmage multiple opponents on a single day. Frequency of play, practice, and scheduling during the summer is governed by the member institution and is not regulated by the NAIA. Incoming freshmen and transfers can not take part in summer practice or competitions with the team.
