1 KCA 2018

2 We provide services for children and young people with learning disabilities aged 5 to 25 including those with physical disabilities, autism, complex communication, and behavioural needs. We want to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with disabilities and their families and aim to enhance their life opportunities by providing play, outreach, short breaks, after school clubs, counselling and family support services to support children and young people to be active and contributing members of their community. 4 Outreach We provide a range of 1:1 activities using facilities out in the community, at KCA or at home. This service is for an agreed care package for medium to long term support. Support is based around the needs of your child and we work with you and your child to provide meaningful and interesting activities. KCA 2018

5 Family Support We offer a free service to parent carers of children, young people and adults with special needs and/or complex disability related needs, aged up to 25 years . Our family worker can provide information, signposting and onward referral to other services, sources of support and specialist advice. We can offer tailored practical support e.g. letter writing, attending meetings, making phone calls, support parent carers to self advocate and / or advocate on their behalf and offer emotional support. 6 Counselling The objective is to help you and your family cope with issues that arise within families and take a holistic view, through counselling to prevent family breakdown and stress related ill health. The sessions help you understand the difference and difficulties that is Autism and/or ADHD and help you understand your Autism and/or ADHD. Sessions can also help you to cope with other emotional problems that are affecting you and your family. KCA 2018

7 Creative Therapy KCA is providing Creative Therapy sessions to provide long-term support to parents, carers and children living in Harrow and the surrounding areas. Creative therapy can offer a non-intrusive way of engaging with children, young people and families, enabling them to cope with life challenges, build resilience and self-esteem and gain in confidence. Creative Therapy has a positive impact on health and well-being. Creative therapy can help unlock your potential and build confidence through drawing, painting, playing, sand tray work or talking.
