Program Objectives Remain on schedule, organized & well informed
Build on previous programs & (possibly) introductory college meetings Plan for the winter/spring/summer months Increase “college speak” & depth of knowledge from professionals

Winter & Spring Goals Hold Introductory meeting with college counselor: schedule ASAP if not already Allow for consistent follow up Remain in contact with college counselor by any method: , meetings Keep us updated! We are here to support, advise and advocate Refine search and continue to build a balanced application list

Winter & Spring Goals Begin or continue college visitation
Be active in Naviance-Family Connection: Admissibility Benchmarking Research & List development Developing Comfort Testing (Spring-Fall): Define and/or refine strategy in introductory college meeting Draft & Refine College Essay in English, and submit to College Counselor

Spring & Summer Goals Attend April College Planning Assembly for Juniors (only students) Formulate application list by August 1 or return to school senior year Request Teacher Recommenders (Spring: Prior to year end). How? Student “Brag Sheet” Submission (Spring-June 1 deadline) Parent “Brag Sheet” Submission (Spring-June 1 deadline)

Summer Goals Draft Common Application: Opens August 1
Start Coalition and/or Specific Applications: Opens on or around August 1 Finalize College Essay Draft supplemental essays (if applicable) Maximize Involvement: Exploratory Programs, Immersion & Practical experiences
