4 Essential Skills Requirements
Academic Proficiency: ✔️reading ✔️writing ✔️math Personalized Learning: Junior Year: Junior Project Junior Interview Senior Year: I.H.S: Classic: Senior Interview & Senior Interview & Extended Essay & CAS Hr CTE or Sr Experience 1)Many have demonstrated academic proficiency thru PSAT, SAT, ACT, Smarter Balance or are scheduled in classes to do so this year If not SEE YOUR COUNSELOR! 2) Senior Project: different structure that lets you take the lead on setting up activities that you determine to be helpful.

5 SEHS Junior Activities
Junior Project: Completed in Career Center 1st & 2nd trimesters Teach students tools for researching post high school plans Research career options and connect to educational plan Begin college research, compare characteristics, costs, entrance requirements Junior Interview: Complete with counselor during 2nd trimester develop graduation course plan according to student’s deficits and post-high school aspirations Essential Skills Testing taken winter & spring through academic classes Forecast Senior Classes: March & April, use Plan from Jr Interview Determine Senior Experience or CTE if Classic South Junior Year Required Activities: Classes for CTE Take SAT II at time complete the class On-going: Presentations in the Career Center Summer internships thru Connected Lane County or many other programs and summer camps

6 Recommended Junior Activities:
PSAT –results by December SAT or ACT: Recommended that 4 year college bound take Spring of Jr Year (fee waivers) Summer School registration late May & June Oregon Public University Visit

7 Prepare for Senior Year
Review Graduation Plan and transcript Enroll in Summer school if needed College exploration & visits (if possible) Start Senior Experience Take SAT or ACT in Fall Compare Senior classes to Graduation Plan (Junior Mailing in June)

8 Required Senior Activities:
Solidify plans for after high school Colleges and Universities Pick up and follow the College Application Packet Military Options Certificate Programs Gap Year Resources Research Employment Opportunities Have a Senior Interview during 1st Trimester, or ASAP Schedule and pass all required credits Meet essential skills in Reading, Math and Writing Complete Personalized Learning (IHS Extended Essay, CTE Project, IOP CAM or Senior Experience)

Check progress towards graduation Here about upcoming dates and deadlines Explain and Answer questions about Senior Experience or other Personalized Learning Go over the SEHS college admissions process Go over post high school plans

10 4 Year College Application Process
Narrow down the list of colleges you want to apply to and complete the applications. Complete the College Application Packet, for things like letters of recommendations and transcripts. Discuss how you’re going to fund college and complete the necessary applications (FAFSA, ORSAA, OSAC Scholarships) Have a great year, colleges/universities do care about Senior year.

11 Two Year College Admission
Apply for admissions by January (priority deadline) Take your placement tests, you can do these in the College & Career Center. Discuss how you’re going to fund college Complete the FAFSA/ORSAA by January Complete the OREGON PROMISE, which will pay for two years of tuition. Lane Foundation Scholarships

12 Senior Important Dates
Fall term or ASAP: Compete the Senior Interview November 14th: FAFSA Workshop. Apply for FAFSA/ORSAA as soon as you’re able. 02/08: Last day to present Senior Experience showcase visual. Winter term: Receive a senior mailing from your student’s Senior Interview. 03/01: Deadline for OSAC and Lane Foundations Scholarships. 06/07: Graduation
