Welcome, to First Grade! Time to learn the classroom Rules!

Learn About Our Class A monthly calendar with all activity’s and events will be passed out for parents and be placed in your cubby at the beginning of each month. Papers needing your parents signature will be stapled to the homework packet. Welcome to the First Grade! My name is Ms. Taney Our goal is to learn first grade material, so that we can move on to the second grade. Each student will be assigned a mail cubby according the number on the name tag you see at your desk.

This is what a normal day in our classroom looks like.
Timing Activity 7:25 – 8:00 School Starts, Breakfast, Attendance 8:00 - 8:30 Reading, Writing 8:30 - 9:15 Spelling and Grammar 9: :00 Activity Centers 10: :00 Lunch and Recess 11: :45 Social Studies 11: :30 Specials 13:30 - 1:00 Math Review 1:00 - 1:30 Today’s Math 1:30 - 2:05 Finish any work and get backpacks ready. 2:10 School is Dismissed This is what a normal day in our classroom looks like.

Tardiness School starts at 7:25 A.M.
Running late? Check in at the school office before coming to class. If you are tardy four times, the school will contact your parents.

Number 2 pencil Backpack or Binder Folder or binder Electronic devices All Cell phones will be keep on silent in your backpack. Talk to me if you expect a call from your parents.

Homework On Mondays, each student will be sent home with a packet of homework. Homework is due on Friday morning Need extra time? Go to homework club during recess or after school. You may always come to me during lunch or after school if you have questions or need help.

Field Trips We have lots of fun field trips planned for this year!
Attend two plays at the Children’s Theater (Reading unit) Take a trip to Leads Discovery Kids Museum (Science unit) Tour a bakery (Social Studies unit) All field trips slips will be put in the students mail cubby to take home. An additional copy will also be stapled to the homework packet .

Ready For the First Grade?
Parents will be sent home a handout informing them about the class dojo website that allows them to keep track of your progress and behavior. Here is a cute little video about brand new first graders just like you!
